Abhishek-Aishwarya love story : A brief history

The actress moved away from Salman and found love in Vivek Oberoi .On the other hand, Abhishek’s engagement to Karisma Kapoor was broken off and she married a Delhi-based businessman in 2003. Abhi accepted the break-up and sank himself into work. That was the time when Abhi and Ash had already worked together in two films : Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Naa Kaho . They were friends but there was nothing more to their relationship.Even as Abhishek was single and available in those days, Ash was seeing Vivek. She even offered prayers with him at a temple in South India. But this relationship too was not to last long.Things began getting sour when Vivek acknowledged in a TV interview that he was seeing Ash, and admitted that marriage was a possibility between them. This allegedly angered Ash who had strictly avoided talking about her personal life in media.Reports of Ash-Vivek break up surfaced in November 2005 and within weeks it was confirmed that the couple had split. It is hard to tell when exactly the first sparks of romance began between Ash and Abhishek. Some people say it was during the shooting of the song ‘Kajra Re’ for Bunty Aur Babli .
Anyway, seeds of love were sown between them, and Abhi fondly began calling Ash ‘Number Nine’ because she was named the ninth most beautiful woman in the world by a magazine.By the beginning of 2006, Ash and Abhi romance was already fodder for gossip mills. However, the two never acknowledged their relationship in public. Then, in February 2006, Amitabh Bachchan ’s brother Ajitabh made a visit to the Bangalore-based astrologer Chandrashekhar Swamy with the horoscopes of Ash and Abhi, thereby fuelling the speculation that marriage was certainly on the cards for the couple.
In the meantime, Ash and Abhi began signing a string of movies together. They signed Umrao Jaan , Dhoom 2 (in which they were not paired) and Mani Ratnam’s Guru .It was during the making of ‘Guru’ in June 2006, Ash and Abhi became less cautious about being seen together at public places.
They visited a cancer hospital, they saw movies together and visited nightclubs in Chennai. In the months that followed, Ash began to be a part of the Bachchan family, attending dinners and visiting temples with them. In November 2006, just after the release of ‘Dhoom 2’, Ash and Abhi performed a series of pujas at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi.ENGAGEMENTIt is learnt that Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya after the premiere of ‘Guru’ in Toronto last week and the actress accepted his proposal without a second thought.
After flying back to Mumbai, the couple got engaged on Sunday, Jan 14, at the Bachchans’ residence. Only close friends and relatives from both the families were present at the engagement ceremony. While there is still no word on when the marriage would be, it is being speculated that Abhi and Ash might tie the knot on February 19, 2007, because it has been declared an auspicious day by their astrologer.

'Aishwarya graceful dancer than Mallika'

Mallika Sherawat sure has sex appeal. But she can’t match the dancing skills of Aiswarya Rai .The two ladies are acting in Mani Ratnam’s latest release Guru . The movie has both Ash and Mallika in two different songs that showcase their dancing skills.Mallika plays a dancer from abroad and appears in a slightly sensuous number called ‘Maiyya Maiyya’. Ash, on the other hand, is introduced in the film in the song ‘Barso Re’.Dance instructor Brinda, who has choreographed the steps for both Ash and Mallika in the film, is appreciative of Mallika’s dancing skills, but she also asserts that Ash is more nimble and graceful in dance movements. Not many know that Ash has been trained in Indian classical dances and began shooting for ‘Guru’ right after Umrao Jaan in which she played a courtesan with immaculate dancing skills.Choreographer Brinda is quoted as saying: "Mallika is very talented, but when compared to Aishwarya she comes second place. Even in small movements, Aishwarya is brilliant." Mallika has just a walk-on part in ‘Guru’ while Ash plays the movie’s leading lady.

Aishwarya takes an elephant ride

Mumbai, Now that her problems with the customs department have ended, there are joyful tidings for Bollywood's beauty queen Aishwarya Rai. She is back in Jaipur shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's "Jodha-Akbar" with Hrithik Roshan."It's going great!" Aishwarya exulted from Jaipur as she prepared for the day's shoot. So, has she done any horse riding and sword-fighting as yet? "None of the above. But I rode an elephant for a scene. And his name was Lakhi.
After 'Dhoom 2' and its hi-tech ambience and accessories, entering a world of elephants and Mughal grandeur is a true culture shock. And a real challenge for both Hrithik and me after 'Dhoom 2'," Aishwarya told IANS. "But what's the life of an actor without challenges? I'm at a stage in my career where I need to constantly re-invent myself."
About the elephant ride, Aishwarya explained with a giggle, "It wasn't exactly a unique experience. I've ridden an elephant before for Gurinder Chaddha's 'Bride & Prejudice', though very briefly. "In 'Jodha-Akbar' everything is far more elaborate. I guess I must be the only actress of my generation to have taken two elephant rides."

Ash Has Got a Money Mail

Aishwariya Rai is making millions by starring in big films both in India as well as abroad. She also happens to be the highest paid brand ambassadors in the country. So, it’s bound to make news when a parcel containing 23, 000 Euros (Approximately Rs 14 lakhs) weighing 16.5 kgs is addressed to her name and address by an unknown person from South Africa. The customs officials had notified regarding this parcel to Rai but she didn’t revert back to their repeated notifications through letters. Ash is currently shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Akbar Jodha’ in Jaipur and the customs officials have clearly stated to her manager Haris Singh that they can’t wait for her beyond the end of this week after which she would have to be summoned under the Customs Act.According to the customs officials she was not under investigation but if she continues to be non-cooperative with the investigations then she could face action under the Customs Act. The consignor is the one who is really answerable and can be questioned even if he is a Non-Indian. Film industry sources are saying that it might be an act of a fan who was eager to prove his loyalty towards the beautiful former Miss World. Well…What can we say…There are other better ways of showing your affection-n-loyalty dude

Ash-Abhi: Wedded to Rumours

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have gained a prolific proficiency at making headlines. I guess even you guys must be tired of hearing about them. Be it the cash-from-admirers to awards controversy, or the infamous kiss between Ash-Hrithik angering Bachchans, this couple is hogging the limelight. Like it or not! Now, the latest twist in the tale is the news of Ash being a part of Bachchan clan’s pooja at Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi on the occasion of Amitabh’s father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s 100 birth anniversary. It was supposed to be a private affair but the media got wind of it. Hence, encircled stills on television and snap shots of Abhi-Ash on front pages of newspapers with vermilion on their forehead (hiding the worry lines maybe). Speculation was rife that a pooja has been organized to address Aishwrya’s Mangal dosh. Some others said that the couple exchanged rings. Still others said that Ash sat on Abhi’s left side like a wife would do according to the rituals. This continuous media circus is getting bizarre. I don’t understand why Bachchans or Rai’s parents for that matter make their stand clear on the status of the relationship the couple share

Aishwarya & Hrithik Sizzle in Dhoom2.

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai was in her hottest portrayal till date in this movie. Her mind blowing costumes outfit designed by Anaita Shroff Adajania was an added attraction for the cine-lovers.
The Hrithik-Ash pair ends up as an almost perfect screen pair, leaving nothing to be desired. The make-up experts of D:2 brought in from London really did a marvelous job. They completely transformed the stars to different human beings.
The transformation seemed to be a real manifestation of the inward beauty into the outward sphere.Aishwarya Rai played the role of a golden girl Sunehri in D:2, who is in the habit of embracing big dreams of Amsterdam, Australia and America, though in reality she lived in the suburbs of Mumbai.
A remarable change occurs in the life of Sunehri when Aryan comes into her life. This incident transforms her existence and elevates her to new heights. The role of Aryan is played by Hrithik Roshan, who happens to be a perfect thief. He is a real connoisseur and an embodiment of cool, hot, smooth and tough characteristics.
Aryan also performs the most dare devil and impossible heists. Both Aryan and Sunehri were a perfect match, whose on-screen chemistry can really allure the crowd into the theatres

Aishwarya Rai to Consult an Able Astrologer

Aishwarya Rao acted in the film 'Mistress of Spices' and there was much hype about the same. But that was utterly flopped in England leaving no recognition to Aishwarya Rai. There have been many open comments about the film and Aishwarya's poor performance in the film in Indian television shows. Aishwarya Rai's attempt to turn the heads of big wigs in Hollywood has gone in vain.Although she got ample recognition in Cannes and other film festivals, and despite bagging a role beside Will Smith tentatively, she feels that days are bad for her.
She is more concerned about all these as she has also fallen down from the cycle and admitted in Hospital recently. She says her intuition says that days are not good for her and hence opting for Astrologer's consultation.
Well, doctor flashes on mind when one is ill and astrologer flashes when one feel that time is bad.

Iceland is now 'Ashland'?

It doesn't cease to surprise us as to the reach and impact of Bollywood; especially of our glorious stars.
And it amazed us no end when we heard that in remote regions, as far away as Iceland, Bollywood rules.
We were introduced to a top league Icelandic movie producer and writer (he's also worked on big Hollywood projects and on TV shows like OC), Christian Thoddarsson.
And though the man knows every big name in the west, he had a tough time pron
ouncing some desi names.
But he'd obviously heard of our mega Movie industry and obviously there was one glam name that came to him instantly - Ash!
"I've heard such wonderful things about her. And I've seen her pictures and interviews and she is simply beautiful. I would love to come down and sign her up for a Hollywood-Bollywood-Icelandic co-production. With some stars from the west. I'm sure it's all a grand workable plan."
Guys it won't be long before the cool Icelanders are bitten by the 'Ash' bug, after all she too is an ice maiden and on top a Miss World too and also a Bollywood and Hollywood star,do you think it will be long before Iceland is turned into 'Ashland'?.
On behalf of all the 'Ash' fans from around the world we welcome all the cool dudes from Iceland to 'Ashland'......welcome aboard.

Watchout for Aishwarya`s stunning stunts !

Going by Dhoom II Director Sanjay Gadhvi’s revelations, alabaster beauty Aishwarya Rai has made acrobatic assertions during the making of his film.
He remarked that the comely lass trained for months for the action sequences in his pet project.
"Ash has a lot of guts. She has done some awesome stunts in the film. She did power yoga for two months and has a perfectly toned body," Gadhvi exulted in a newspaper interview.
However, Gadhvi did not divulge details about the stunts in Dhoom II nor did her reveal much about the plot. The most he would let on is that it is a fast-paced cops and robbers movie.
He however disclosed that the Dhoom sequel is slated for release later this year, and that it is "bigger, better" and "faster and more furious" than the original.
Such stunning stunt acts apart, such disclosures are quite in keeping with the Rai (opinion) of her fans who drool over her sex appeal and charm rather than for her histrionic skills.
The movie, which was filmed in Namibia, South Africa and India also stars Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu
